@Swiftfox Prime white, then touch areas that need black with contrast/speedpaint (visor/undersuit/guns/etc). Also hit the shoulderpad for the sergeant w/ orange. Then i used a 1:1 ratio of nuln oil and lahmian medium (you could probably use water or contrast medium too, but the ratio would probably be a little different)and put it on fairly generously. Then drybrush white to catch edges (may require some cleanup of black areas like the brow ridges). From there the bases were painted black, then dark red. Then in order light red, orange, and yellow in areas i wanted the lava to look hot. Then use mordant earth or another black crackle paint and let it dry before finishing with a grey or white drybrush on the base.Drybrush the boots with black then spray with satin varnish.

Oh, when putting on the shade you gotta make sure to brush off any pooling along the bigger surfaces like the chestpiece or pauldrons. May even go over those areas again with white.
